When I first heard the words Sensory Processing Disorder, my initial reaction was how do I fix it.  Many questions flooded my mind. Soon I discovered there wasn’t an end all remedy to “fix it”.  This was him and a part of who he is. I had to change my outlook. Rather than to “fix it” I had to change my mindset to HOW CAN I SUPPORT HIM. It was my duty as his mother and his advocate to build an environment that fit HIM. I was driven to create an environment that would provide a fluid transition between therapy-to-home and deliver consistency for him.
